This short video explores the new graphic novel adaptation of Sister Helen Prejean’s 1993 memoir “Dead Man Walking,” where she tells the story of when she accompanied a man on death row during his final moments. Prejean says this 6-year-long project is aimed at a younger audience in hopes of taking what she hopes will be the final step towards abolishing capital punishment in the United States. The clips utilized are from both the panel held at the St. Paul the Apostle Church through Fordham University’s Center for Religion and Culture and personal interviews with Prejean conducted by a Fordham University journalism student.
